Clean up your copy this spring
Your website isn’t done,
It’s just waiting for a refresh.
You know that feeling when you throw open the windows, shake out the rugs, and suddenly, everything feels lighter?
Your business needs that too.
Your website isn’t a finished thing.
It’s not a book you write, publish, and then leave to gather dust on the shelf.
It’s a living, breathing extension of your brand, evolving as you do.
But when was the last time you actually looked at it?
Not just skimmed it.
Not just thought I should probably update that while scrolling late at night.
But really sat down and made sure your words still reflect where you are, what you offer, and who you serve?
If it’s been a while, don’t worry…
…you don’t need a complete overhaul.
Just like a spring clean isn’t a full redecoration, updating your copy doesn’t mean rewriting everything from scratch.
Small adjustments can bring new energy to your messaging, making sure your business reflects where you are now.
It's time to refresh your website (and spring clean your messaging) and I’ll show you how with my handy step-by-step process!
Step 1: Declutter your offers
Spring cleaning isn’t just tidying.
It’s a chance to let go of what no longer serves you.
Take a moment to review your services.
Are you still excited about everything on your website?
Or are there offers you’ve outgrown but haven’t had the time (or courage) to remove?
Ask yourself:
Do I still love delivering this service?
Does this offer still align with my expertise and business goals?
Am I underpricing myself because I haven’t updated this package in years?
Have I introduced new services that aren’t properly reflected on my website?
If you’re keeping an offer out of obligation rather than passion, it might be time to let it go.
Set it free like a little bird!
And if you’ve been secretly wanting to add something (like a new one-to-one package, a workshop, or even just a fresh take on what you already do) spring is the perfect time to make that shift.
Clearing out old, misaligned offers makes room for new opportunities.
Step 2: Dust off your key pages and refresh your website

Your website is like your online home.
Every so often, it needs maintenance.
You don’t have to gut-renovate the whole thing, but you should absolutely check in with:
Your homepage
Does your headline still capture the heart of what you do?
If someone landed here for the first time today, would they instantly understand the value of your work?
Pro tip: Try reading your homepage aloud. If it doesn’t feel natural or exciting anymore, that’s a sign it needs a refresh.
Your about page
Does it still tell your story?
Have you evolved since you last updated it?
Are there parts that no longer feel aligned with your brand voice?
Your about page should connect with your audience. Make sure it speaks to them, too.
Your services page
Are your offers still crystal clear and compelling?
Have your prices changed, but your website hasn’t caught up?
Do your descriptions feel exciting, or are they a bit stale?
Make it easy for people to want to buy from you. If your service descriptions don’t feel inviting, a little refresh can work wonders.
Your calls-to-action
Are your buttons and links leading people where you actually want them to go?
Do your calls-to-action still match your current business goals?
For example, if you used to focus on one-to-one clients but now prioritise group programmes, your calls-to-action should reflect that shift.
Little tweaks (like rewording a headline, updating a call-to-action, or replacing outdated copy) can make a huge difference in how people engage with your site.
Step 3: Refresh your messaging for the season ahead
Spring is a time to plant seeds for what’s next.
For me, that means stepping out of my little online bubble and connecting with people in real life.
I can be a little introverted, so networking and in-person collaborations don’t always come naturally.
But growing my business means stepping outside my comfort zone.
Maybe you’ve been hiding behind your laptop for too long, avoiding visibility because it feels safer to stay behind the screen.
There’s a whole world beyond the virtual space.
And spring is the perfect time to start exploring it.
Maybe it’s attending an in-person event, even if you don’t know a single person there.
Maybe it’s reaching out to a local business owner to collaborate on something fun.
Maybe it’s simply making the decision to be seen more, even if it feels uncomfortable at first.
We’re no longer hibernating.
It’s time to step outside, make new connections, and expand the way we show up in the world.
Step 4: Align your words with your current vision

Your business has evolved. Your messaging should, too.
That means:
Updating your brand voice to reflect who you really are
Removing jargon or outdated marketing speak that no longer feels right
Making sure your mission statement still speaks to the audience you want to attract
For me, this has meant weaving more magic, storytelling, and authenticity into my copy.
Less “marketing speak,” more real talk.
It’s a side of myself that I used to hide away…but you know what? Fuck it.
This is me, this is what I enjoy, and I am the heart of my business.
So…what does that look like for you?
A great place to start is crafting a new brand statement: one or two sentences that sum up who you are and who you serve.
For example:
I help creative entrepreneurs tell their stories through bold, authentic copy that connects and converts.
I help coaches and service providers simplify their messaging so they can attract their dream clients without the overwhelm.
Once you’re clear on your message, everything in your copy starts to feel more aligned.
Step 5: Give yourself permission to evolve
Your brand isn’t set in stone. It’s allowed to grow.
If you’re feeling the pull to shift, tweak, or transform…
…lean into it.
Your website should feel like a reflection of the business you have now, not the one you had five years ago.
If you’re looking at your copy and thinking this doesn’t feel like me anymore, that’s okay.
It’s actually a great sign.
It means you’re growing.
And that’s exactly what you should be doing.
Get ready for an active summer
Your brand already has everything it needs…it just requires a little refresh
Branding isn’t about forcing yourself into a box.
Uncovering what’s already there and amplifying it is far more powerful.
So take this as your sign to:
Polish up your website
Let go of offers that no longer excite you
Step into the next season of your business with confidence
And if you need help getting that refresh going, a copy power hour is just the ticket for guided improvements. I’ll work with you live to spruce up the copy you already have…saving you the need for a full rewrite.
